Sarus Tourism Circuit,Mainpuri

Sarus Cranes, are a non migratory endemic bird species found abundantly in and around Mainpuri. Sarus circuit is an attempt to identify and recognise those wetlands were Sarus sightings are mundane. It is an endeavour to promote conservational tourism and create community sensitisation about this endangered state bird of Uttar pradesh which is rapidly depleting due to degradation of its wetland habitat. The revival of wetlands and development of Sarus Circuit Project has been done by the local MGNREGA workers and spearheaded by the Gram Panchayats to create a village level eco tourism model.
